The Heart and Soul Academy understands, cherishes and respects the importance of your privacy and safeguarding your personal information. We take every precaution to protect your member or donor information.
1. Children's Privacy
We recognize the need to provide further privacy protections with respect to Personal Information (as defined below) if we collect from individuals under the age of 13 ("children"). Consistent with the requirements of the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, we will ask for a parent or guardian email address before we collect any personal information from the child. In the email, we will explain what information we are collecting, how we plan to use it, how the parent can provide consent, and how the parent can revoke consent. If we do not receive parental consent within a reasonable time, we will delete the parent contact information and any other information collected from the child in connection with that activity. If you believe your child is participating in an activity that collects personal information and you or another parent/guardian have NOT received an email providing notice or seeking your consent, please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can review your child's Personal Information, request that we no longer collect Personal Information from your child or have your child's Personal Information deleted by sending a detailed message to email@example.com.
Unless permitted by law, we shall only use children's Personal Information after receiving parental consent through the parent email address provided. In certain circumstances, we may not be able to request parental consent, such as using Personal Information obtained from a child in order to receive parental consent.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information We Collect From You
When you join Heart and Soul Academy, sign-up for our classes, retreats or donation from Heart and Soul Academy via our website, register for one of our professional events, or donate via our donation page, we and/or our service providers for collecting payments (including Good, Volusion, and Authorize.net) collect a variety of personal information about you ("Personal Information") in order to maintain your membership and to properly process your purchase or donation. This Personal Information may include: your name, address, phone, and email address, your credit card information and purchase or donation amount. We may also collect more detailed information about you, such as if you are looking for hair pulling or skin picking information, or are a parent or treatment professional.
When you register for one of our classes, events or conferences, we may collect your Personal Information, which may be processed through an event registration vendor who shares the information with us but will not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.
2.2 Login Through Third Party Websites
In some cases, we may allow you to login to our Services using third party websites (including a social network site such as Facebook or Twitter) (a "Third Party Website"). If you login to our Services through a Third Party Website, we access and collect information about your use of the Third Party Website and information you provide to such Third Party Website. To the extent you and the Third Party Website allow, we may access your information that is publicly available to other users of the Third Party Website and all information you have provided to the Third Party Website, such as login e-mail and other content information, friends lists, network statistics and updates regarding your Third Party Website account. We will notify you before we collect such information from such Third Party Website.
2.3 Cookies and Other Technology
We may also use web beacons to access our cookies. A web beacon is an electronic file on a Web page that allows us to count users who have visited that page and to recognize users by accessing our cookies. Further, a web beacon can be used in HTML-formatted email to determine responses to our communications and measure their effectiveness. You can avoid web beacons by turning off HTML display and displaying only the text portion of your email.
We also do not track users across Third Party Websites, and therefore our website does not use or respond to "do not track" signals in your web browser. However, some Third Party Websites do keep track of your browsing activities when they serve your content, which enables them to tailor what they present to you. If you are visiting such sites, certain website browsers allow you to set the DNT signal on your browser so that third parties (particularly advertisers) know you do not want to be tracked.
